Smiles for Life: It’s Not About the Teeth

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Every year, from March through June, Smiles for Life raises money through teeth whitening specials with participating Crown Council dentists across the United States and Canada. The funds support children’s charities the world over.

Smiles for Life, one of many reputable children's charities.Earlier in 2018, Smiles for Life partnered with Esperanza on a humanitarian expedition to the Dominican Republic, where nearly half of the population lives below the poverty line. Esperanza is a comprehensive approach to poverty alleviation. Together they provided as many Dominicans as possible with much-needed dental care, but their trip was about more than dentistry.

“Our goal in coming here is not to extract teeth, or to do fillings,” one of the dentists observed during the trip. “Our goal is to help make life better for the people who live here. Our motto is, ‘it’s not about the teeth, it’s about the people.'”

Smiles for Life has raised more than forty million dollars since its inception some twenty years ago. Participating children’s charities include St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation, and many others.

Teeth whitening supplies for the fundraising campaign are donated by Ultradent, the maker of Opalescence teeth whitening gels.

“Smiles for Life has been a great experience for me,” one of the volunteers said, during her stay in the Dominican Republic. “To work with them hands-on, and ensure that Esperanza is continuing their promise to provide our associates with services like dental and mental coverage.”

Smiles for Life, one of many reputable children's charities. We would like to thank each and every participant in the 2018 edition of the Smiles for Life teeth whitening fundraising program.

The final tally is not yet in, but we anticipate another banner year. Smiles for Life is the children’s charity arm of the Crown Council, and this year’s teeth whitening fundraiser wrapped up at the end of June.

A big thank you goes to Ultradent, the makers of Boost in-office teeth whitening, and Opalescence take-home whitening trays. Ultradent provided all of the teeth whitening supplies to participating dentists. Without their generosity, the campaign would not have been possible.

We would also like to thank all of the dentists who took part in the effort, which began in March. Each and every one is a member of the Crown Council, and donated all of their time and skill to Smiles for Life. Dental teams throughout the United States and Canada took part.

The Smiles for Life campaign has raised more than $40 million since its inception in 1998. Hundreds of children’s charities benefited, including the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation, Feed the Children, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, the Ronald McDonald House, and many others. 100% of the donations go to the Smiles for Life Foundation.

Time is winding down on the 2018 edition of Smiles for Life, Crown Council’s charity to help hundreds of children’s charities. The Smiles for Life Foundation has raised more than forty million dollars since 1998. This year’s edition began in March and runs through June.

Here’s how it works. Dental practices all across the United States and Canada, each of them members of the Crown Council, are providing their teeth whitening services to the program. Instead of paying the dentist, patients write a check directly to the Smiles for Life Foundation.

Teeth whitening supplies have all been donated by Ultradent, the maker of Boost in-office whitening and Opalescence take-home whitening trays. You can help a worthy cause, and at the same time get yourself a dazzling white smile!

100% of the money raised goes to the Smiles for Life Foundation. Half of those donations go to the dental practice’s local charity partner, and the rest goes to the Foundation. Smiles for Life distributes the funds to approved children’s charities throughout the U.S., Canada, and the world.

Participating charities include the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation, Feed the Children, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, the Ronald McDonald House, and many others.

How At-Home Teeth Whitening Works

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A WAY TO WHITEN THE STAINS IN YOUR SMILE, it is always safer and more effective to choose a professional teeth whitening system under the direction of a dentist. Though in-office teeth whitening systems are available, most Smile For Life dentists also offer at-home teeth whitening systems. The media is flooded with advertisements for do-it-yourself remedies, but some of these treatments can be damaging to your teeth and ineffective at fully whitening. With Smiles For Life, you can enjoy a professional at-home teeth whitening system under the care of a dentist while making a difference in the life of a child.

While an at-home teeth whitening system is often less expensive than an in-office professional teeth whitening system, they are still very effective though they generally take a little longer.

At-Home Teeth Whitening Procedure:

A dental cleaning and oral exam are both recommended prior to professional teeth whitening. Your dentist can help you determine whether you qualify for at-home teeth whitening.

After your initial consultation, you will be fitted with custom-molded teeth whitening trays and given a teeth whitening formula.

With Opalescence Tooth Whitening Systems, the tooth whitening formula is applied directly to the whitening trays, which are worn nightly or daily, respectively, until the desired shade is reached. The teeth whitening formula contains active ingredients, which slowly penetrate through the tooth enamel and bleach out any stains. Length of treatment varies depending on the current tooth shade and desired results.

When you choose a dentist who participates with Smiles For Life for your in-office or at-home teeth whitening system, 100% of your teeth whitening cost goes towards benefiting children all over the world. Find a Smiles For Life participating dentist in your area today!

About In-Office Whitening

A BEAUTIFUL WHITE SMILE NOT ONLY LOOKS GOOD, it also increases your self-confidence…Over time, the aging process, as well as substances such as coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco, colas, and medications, gradually discolor your teeth. While a dental cleaning can remove some lighter tooth stains, most discoloration requires professional tooth whitening to restore a beautiful white smile. The safe, fast, and effective BOOST teeth bleaching system has brightened thousands of smiles and impacted thousands of lives through Smiles For Life.

Opalescence Teeth Whitening Procedure

A teeth cleaning and an oral exam are recommended before the Opalescence Teeth bleaching procedure. For best results, cavities and oral health issues should be taken care of prior to the tooth whitening process. Your dentist will help you determine if your teeth are ready for Opalescence Teeth bleaching.

After Tooth Whitening Care

Opalescence Teeth Whitening is designed to keep your teeth looking white for a long time. However, to improve the longevity of your tooth whitening, be sure to brush and floss daily. Your doctor may also give you a take-home tooth whitening kit to take home for occasional touch-ups.

Benefits of Opalescence Teeth Bleaching

The dangers of do-it-yourself tooth whitening remedies are many, while the benefits of in-office professional tooth whitening are numerous:

Fast and Effective: As opposed to many tooth whitening systems that take weeks or months to whiten your teeth just a few shades, Opalescence Teeth Whitening works effectively in less than an hour.

Long Lasting: Opalescence Teeth Bleaching is designed to keep your teeth looking white over a long period of time. Excellent oral hygiene and occasional touch-ups keep your smile looking bright.

Safe: In-office professional tooth whitening is one of the safest ways to whiten your teeth, since a dental professional is right there to monitor the tooth whitening procedure and ensure that everything works as it should.

With Smiles For Life, you not only get a beautifully white smile, but you also improve the life of a child. The dentists donate their time, Ultradent donates the whitening materials, and 100% of all proceeds go to charity to benefit children all over the world. Find a dentist who participates in Smiles For Life in your area today.
